What information we handle
You can use most free calculators without creating an account. Values entered into a calculator may be saved in your browser so they can pre-fill another tool. If you create an account, we store the details you provide, your saved planning profile and the access attached to your purchase.
When you sign in with Google, Google gives us the basic identity information needed to recognise your account, such as your email address and Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password. If you buy a product through Whop, Whop handles checkout and sends us the purchase and access information needed to unlock the correct downloads and tools.
How we use it
- to run calculators and remember your chosen inputs;
- to sign you in, save your profile and restore access on another device;
- to verify purchases and make paid downloads available;
- to protect the service from misuse and diagnose technical problems; and
- when advertising is activated, to fund the free guides and calculators.
Browser storage and cookies
Expat Compass uses browser storage for functional preferences, saved calculator data and access state. Google Sign-In may use cookies needed to complete sign-in. Whop may use cookies when you visit its checkout. These services publish their own privacy information and control the cookies used on their domains.
Advertising cookies are not currently enabled on Expat Compass. Before Google ads are activated, visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland will be shown Google’s certified consent message so they can accept, reject or manage advertising choices. You will be able to revisit those choices from this page.
Google advertising
If advertising is activated, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads based on previous visits to this and other websites. Google may use advertising cookies to help show relevant ads, measure performance and prevent fraud.

Service providers
We use Vercel to deliver the website and provide aggregate, cookie-free traffic analytics, Railway to run account services, Google for sign-in and (once approved) advertising, and Whop for checkout and purchase verification. Vercel analytics helps us see page views, broad location, device type and referring site without attaching those visits to an account profile. Information may be processed in countries outside your own, subject to the safeguards offered by those providers.
Retention and your choices
You can clear locally saved calculator information through your browser settings. You can sign out from the profile page. You may ask for a copy, correction or deletion of account information by contacting Expat Compass through the support link on our Whop page. Some purchase and security records may need to be retained where required by law or to prevent fraud.
Children and sensitive information
Expat Compass is intended for adults making international money and relocation decisions. Do not enter passwords, full bank details, passport numbers, tax account credentials or other highly sensitive identifiers into calculators or blog forms.
Changes
We may update this notice when the service, providers or law changes. The current version and date will remain available at this address.
